ADHD & Resilience

After reading Resilience: The Science of Mastering Life’s Greatest Challenges, Yon began reflecting on the resilience that carried him through a lifetime of undiagnosed ADHD.

The Epitome of Resiliency

Inspired by Resilience: The Science of Mastering Life’s Greatest Challenges.

I am the very epitome of resiliency.

All my life my secret enemy

which until 67 I could not see

was obviously ADHD.

It made everything so hard for me

I was frequently, almost constantly

battling some adversity

because nothing I did came naturally

that everyone else knew or did quite easily.

So serious accidents, resulting in permanent injury

and pain and loss never seemed strange to me.

They were all just another degree of adversity

calling for more resiliency to prove to the world and my family

that even if I had no skills and little physical ability

I could withstand suffering better than anybody.

Every day not killing myself was a victory

More of Yon's story is on its way

This space will grow with Yon's personal experience, reflections, and resources to help people with ADHD feel understood — and to help the wider public better understand ADHD through resilience and lived experience.

Resilience In Us

An inspirational space of resilience - for meaning  and purpose discovery, moment to moment and until our last breath, inspired by my beloved husband's work with fellow veterans, his colleagues,  Viktor Frankl, and my inspiring veteran buddies and acquaintances.  This is also a personal project for my Viktor Frankl Logotherapy diplomate, putting what I have learned to practice to help others.  Input resources are selected by me and used by AI to generate output - daily reflections and tools.
