Every time I go on this website, be it morning, afternoon or night
I can't help but think of the many who suffered, bled and died
and I feel grateful and thoughtful, and start to get teary eyed.
Men and women forcing themselves to never ever give in
to the fears that were crawling all over their skin.
They knew that on them many others relied
so they found what it takes deep down inside
to keep the fear of their reality under control
while being torn apart heart and mind and body and soul.
Some heard the booming of mortars, others machine gun fire.
They must have died a little inside while the Devil screamed "yer a liar
and a coward and yellow and yer afraid you'll never get out alive !
You can pretend all day that yer a bad ass "mutha
while you hope the reinforcements and Medics will suddenly arrive."
Or maybe you hear nothing at all, so you know the enemy's near
and you treasured each breath, never knowing if death was on its way or already here.

over the wars that inside you fight every day and every night, on air or on land or at sea.
